After almost 2 weeks out here in the village, with lots of grey skies, and drizzle and cold, we finally had two and a half beautiful days this week! Hot sun. Clear blue skies. Little or no rain. Unfortunately, I’ve had an intestinal bug all week, so I haven’t felt up to taking 5 kids and going out on any adventures. And today the rain is back. While I do hate the rain when it is just day in and day out, with no sun, I do love the torrential downpours that one can have in the tropics. I love hearing the roar of the rain making its way across the jungle before it hits us. And then the huge raindrops plunking down, so hard and loud on our metal roof that we have to yell at each other to carry on a conversation. And the water tank overflowing within minutes because so much is going into it. Today we got just over an inch in an hour.
I just hope that I didn’t miss our only chance to get outside and go hiking and such with the kids because of my being sick. Hopefully we won’t have to wait 2 more weeks to see some more good sun!
