Hurry Up!......... and Wait

"Hurry up and wait" is a well-known phrase around here.  It seems like here in PNG, this is a pretty typical occurrence.  (I have a feeling this is probably true for most other 3rd world countries around the world as well!)  We rush, rush, rush to get ready to go somewhere/do something, and then have to spend hours waiting (for the plane, for the PMV, for the person to arrive, etc.)

Yesterday we did our "hurry up and wait" for the arrival of my parents!  We arranged to borrow a car from a friend for the drive out to the airstrip (not on the center, but a mile or so away), signed the kids out of school a little early and got everyone ready and drove out to the airstrip.  To find out that the time we had been told was not quite right, and they wouldn't be landing for a good hour or so. 

So we waited.  And took a walk.  And waited some more.

 But the wait paid off! =)
